German – Iraqi Partnership Sets Stage for Regional Glass Manufacturing Hub
In a major step toward developing Iraq’s industrial capabilities, Al-Diyar Company, a subsidiary of Iraq’s Al-Rida Investment Group, has announced the signing of a new contract with HORN Glass Industries AG, the renowned German manufacturer, for the design and implementation of state-of-the-art glass factories in the Industrial City of Najaf.
This agreement marks the second major collaboration between the two partners and includes the construction of a container glass production facility, following the successful launch of a float glass factory project. Both projects are being jointly financed by Commerzbank and AKA Bank, reinforcing international confidence in Iraq’s emerging industrial potential.
The contract was signed in Baghdad, with the presence of representatives from the financing banks, emphasizing the strategic importance of the partnership.
Al-Diyar Company is playing a pivotal role in positioning Iraq as a regional hub for high-quality glass production, aiming to meet both domestic and export demands. The establishment of these advanced factories represents a critical step toward producing Iraqi-made glass that meets international standards — a milestone in the country’s path to industrial self-sufficiency and global competitiveness.
This partnership not only reflects the company’s commitment to modern industrial development but also underscores Iraq’s rising position as a serious player in global industrial supply chains.
